Five people including a civilian were killed Thursday in Indian Kashmir during a clash between the Indian army and Islamists of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), report the police and villagers.

The JeM, a Pakistan-based group, claimed responsibility for the Feb. 14 bombing that claimed the lives of some forty Indian police auxiliaries.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the order to the security forces to respond to this attack and the almost daily operations carried out by the army since then in villages in the region regularly provoke violence.
