Donald Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. His parents enroll him in a military academy to channel his teenage energy. Upon leaving, he enrolled in economics and graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, before joining the family business specializing in real estate. Donald learns the workings of the trade under the leadership of his father, and is very quickly gifted for business.
In 1983, he built his first skyscraper, the Trump Tower, which marks the New York landscape. At the head of a financial empire, Donald Trump erects prestigious buildings that bear his name. A decade later, during the real estate crisis of 1990, he has to face debts that amount to billions of dollars and close bankruptcy. But the luxury real estate mogul is doing well and bouncing. In 2005, his group is again facing bankruptcy because of its Atlantic City casinos, but he saves his business in extremis. Therefore, the savvy entrepreneur multiplies the partners to minimize the financial risks and develops a system of licenses that allow him to put his name on skyscrapers without them belonging. At the same time, a true jack-of-all-trades, it allows its group to diversify into ready-to-wear, the creation of golf courses, and professional training (Trump University and The Trump Entrepreneur Initiative since 2010).
Media, the businessman decides to create and co-produce, in 2004, a reality show, The Apprentice. The success is immediate and the show breaks audience records (28 million viewers on the night of the first season finale). Donald Trump is ready to play and takes charge of the presentation of the game for several seasons. Extravagant character, his popularity continues to climb. The concept is declined in many countries. In France, it is the channel M6 which adapts the concept with The Apprentice, who will get the job? presented by Bruno Bonnell and aired from September 2015.
In June 2015, the billionaire is back on the political scene, almost twenty years after his first candidacy for the Republican primaries in 1996.
